brownie in a mug
I've seen too many posts and pins about this. I've tried some but found them not so fluffy, too oily, or too sweet. Here's my version of a somewhat easier and healthier brownie in a mug
Just make sure you have a bigger than usual cup or else it might just over flow. You can use any type of sugar but for this version, I used 1/8 loosely packed brown sugar. Since I used swiss miss, I lessened the usual 1/4 cup to 1/8. I was thinking of using nectresse but I didn't want to do all the math. The note on the bottle said 1 tsp regular sugar = 1/4 tsp nectresse (I'll modify the recipe once I try it). Just mix all the dry ingredients in the mug.
Melt the 1 tbsp butter. I used the can't believe kind since we never buy regular butter. I tried 2 tbsps at first but it was too much for me. Since I lessened the butter, I added milk to have enough liquid to wet the dry ingredients. I used almond milk but water, coffee, or any type of mild will do. The very first version I did was with water, it was not as fluffy as the milk version so I preferred the milk. Using coffee just changes it up a bit.
Add the wet ingredients with the dry. Mix well since you don't want to eat raw flour. Place it in the microwave for 60 to 90 seconds depending on what type you like. 60 seconds would give you a gooey center. I felt it was too gooey and raw for me so I added another 30 seconds and it was just right.
